l. Washington D.C. - It is one of the few cities of the world purposely founded and planned to be the seat of national govenment. An important international city - spacious, beautiful and vibrant. The tour includes transportation by private car with Suzan as your guide. At the mall in Washington you will be able to buy a ticket for the Tran tour of all the important points of interest ( the Capital, the White House, Washington Monument, Jefferson Monument, Lincoln Monument etc. You will be able to get off at different places of interest and regoard the tram at will. I will be with you to guide your tour. Stop at two of the Smithsonian Museum (Air & Space Museum, Natural History Museum, American History Museum, National Art Gallery etc. Comfortable walking shoes are a must. 2. Philadelphia - This is where the Declaration of Independence was written. The first Capital of our Country. Tour the city in comfort in an air conditioned Lincoln Town Car. Visit the Philadelphia Museum of Art (Unique among American museums in its integrated presentation of fine and applied arts from all over the world with over 300,000 works spanning over 2,000 years). Lunch at "Jack's Firehouse" (excellent food).. Drive by the historic Fairmont homes, driving tour by Philadelphia Hall & Liberty Bell. Full day trip Cost $40 which includes cost of Museum, & transportation with guide. Lunch not included.
3. Brandywine Valley Tour - Drive through the countryside on beautiful back roads to Longwood Gardens. Longwood is truly the ultimate garden treasure. Here 1,050 outdoor acres and 20 indoor gardens present a never ending cavalcade of exquisite bloom. Lunch onyour own at the restaurant on the grounds. Next a stop at the Brandywine Art Museum featuring the paintings of Andrew Wyeth as well as N.C. Wyeth, his father, who was renowned for his illustrations for Treasure Island and Kidnapped.
Full day tour. Cost including garden and museum entrance fees - $50 per person. Minimum of two people.
4. Brandywine Valley - Winterthur House and Garden - Treasures of America's past. Henry du Pont's former country estate now houses the world's premier collection of American decorative arts ( 1640-18600). Enjoy a tour of the beautifully furnished rooms as well as going through the museum. Afterwards take a tram through a naturalistic garden world- renowned for its native and exotic plants and dramatic vistas. Lunch at historic Buckey's Tavern (cost not included), or Reservations can be made at the Dupont Hotel for High. Transportation cost, $25 per person - Admission fee for house, gardens and museum collection $20 additional. Lunch on your own as described above.
